And yes, not that I project onto my characters, but sports drinks are *vile*, slimy, nasty things. I hate them with a passion.
And yeah, Jack being the worst British-American ever... so hard to write around the way he speaks. :) Part of me says, "Well, I can't be wrong, he very well could say..." And the rest of me goes, "I'll never be right because he's so damn contrary!" :)
Though in "Exercise in Frustration" I had the go 'round with Ianto's speech. I had him saying something about the t.v. My beta pointed out that he'd probably say 'telly', which normally I'd agree with. But in OoT, he talks about the chick in her bra on the magazine cover as a "children's t.v. presenter" so... *shrug*. I think the internet and t.v./telly are causing our various idioms to crash into each other with very messy results. :)
